It starts on the Central, a square opposite the train station and brings you up to the Polyterrasse in two minutes, where the University of Zurich is located. Hiking, climbing, mountain biking and of course skiing is a major fun factor for the Zurich visitor. On Lake Zurich sailing is very popular, but there are also lots of other kinds of boats to admire. For a day trip in the area, go and see the Rheinfall in Schaffhausen, near the German border. Here the river Rhine roars down a majestic waterfall. The Höllgrotten (Hell’s Cave) are also worth a trip or the medieval Palace of Rapperswil. But Zurich also has an active nightlife, so if you feel like a good night out, you will find your ideal party in one of the 500 bars and clubs of Zurich.
