Rio de Janeiro – World Capital of Carnival

Fantastic beaches, samba, and a gigantic figure of Christ watching over the city: Rio de Janeiro is known as the “Wonderful City” for good reason. Between the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains, Brazil's second largest city stands out from the rainforest and invites the world to the biggest party in the world every year at the end of February: the Rio de Janeiro Carnival, which attracted seven million visitors in 2024 alone.
