9 AM: Botanical Garden

My perfect day starts with a coffee at home, then I grab my camera and head out. My first stop is the Botanical Garden. Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved going there. The exotic plants from all over the world made me long for faraway places. In the greenhouses, I feel like I’m in a jungle in Southeast Asia.

11 AM: Deutsches Museum

The Deutsches Museum is located on an island in the Isar. It’s a great museum of technology that I’ve been visiting since I was a kid.

1 PM: Balinesian Lunch

I have a lunch snack at Daddy Longlegs. Not only do they have the nicest staff, they also serve Bali-style delicacies.

2 PM: Pinakothek

Suitably fortified, I continue on to my other favorite museum, the Pinakothek der Moderne.

3 PM: Isar

Munich is beautifully green, and I love a morning walk along the Isar River – or meeting friends there in the evening.

5 PM: Viktualienmarkt

A quick detour to the Viktualienmarkt, whose stalls with fresh food and specialties always delight me.

7 PM: Dinner

Roast pork with dumplings is a must – and at Donisl it tastes as good as at my grandma’s.

9 PM: Drinks

For a cocktail, I like to go to Yum Thai, an Asian bar-restaurant with great lighting and acoustics. By the way: they serve the best pad thai here outside of Bangkok.

11 PM: Don't Call Mama

I like to end the evening in the club in Maxvorstadt with good music and good conversation.

Tip:

Enjoy a large selection of Bavarian delicacies on a guided Viktualienmarkt tour. As a side dish, they are accompanied by interesting stories about the local specialties. Bookable via GetYourGuide
