Renovation Work at Zurich Airport: Changes to SWISS Check-ins
Zurich Airport is renewing the baggage systems in Check-in 1 in two phases. After the completion of the first phase this spring, the renovation entered its second phase from October 29, 2024, until spring 2025. During this period, there will again be changes to Check-in 1 and Check-in 3. Travelers are advised to follow the airport signage.
For SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy passengers, the check-in area during the renovation will be located in Check-in 3, directly above the train station in the Airport Shopping area.
SWISS Business and SWISS First passengers can continue to drop off their baggage in Check-in 1. This also applies to HON Circle Members, Senators, Frequent Travelers, and Star Gold cardholders.
For passengers arriving by train, there is also a baggage drop-off counter available in Check-in 3 above the train station. In all other cases, SWISS recommends using Check-in 1.
Unaccompanied minors or passengers traveling with animals in the cargo hold, regardless of travel class, will still use Check-in 1. Passengers with reduced mobility can choose between Check-in 1 and Check-in 3.
Services at a glance
Rapid online check-in at home or mobile check-in on the move, as well as the numerous security gates, ensure that you can reach your departure gate quickly. At this airport it will take you a maximum of 20 minutes to get from baggage check-in to your departure gate.
In addition, if you are going abroad, the centrally located passport control ensures speedy processing.
Enjoy shorter distances: after landing, neither you nor your baggage have far to go. And a central exit will then swiftly get you to the airport railway station or car park.
