A Perfect Day: Frankfurt in One Day
Julia Buth, flight attendant at Lufthansa, lived in Frankfurt for a long time and describes her perfect day in Frankfurt
9 AM: Breakfast at Café Karin
At the weekend, I like to meet up with friends for an extended breakfast at Café Karin in the city centre. Whether it's bowls, sandwiches or pancakes: In this long-established eatery, all dishes are prepared with love using regional ingredients. You can taste it!
11 AM: Goethe's birthplace
Just opposite is Goethe's birthplace, where it still looks as if Goethe and his family have only just moved out. A great insight into another time. A few steps further on is Frankfurt's Museumsufer.
12 AM: Schirn Kunsthalle
I particularly like going to the Schirn Kunsthalle for modern art with exhibitions ranging from Banksy to Frida Kahlo, but the Caricatura Museum with its satirical drawings, which is just a few minutes' walk from the Schirn, is also worth a visit. If you want more culture, visit one of the many museums on the famous Museumsufer directly on the Main.

2 PM: Chilling out at the Main Café
On summer days, I like to grab a deckchair in the Main Café, watch the many day trippers and take in the Frankfurt skyline. It's easy to strike up a conversation with others there and get to know the "real" Frankfurt. For me, Frankfurt is not an arrogant banker's town, but rather a village where everyone knows everyone else. With friendly and cosmopolitan people who make it easy for visitors to feel at home.
4 PM: Tapas in the Kleinmarkthalle
Just how multicultural Frankfurt is can also be seen in the Kleinmarkthalle, where traders sell vegetables, fruit and specialities from all over the world on Saturdays. The perfect place to meet up with friends for a glass of Aperol Spritz and some tapas. My secret shopping tip is Berger Straße in the Bornheim district with its many owner-run shops selling unusual and unique things.
6 PM: Eat sushi on Berger Straße
There are small cafés on every corner and the best sushi in town at Berger Streetfood. It's worth queuing! Just like going dancing in the evening in a chilled living room atmosphere in the Saint Tropez Bar in Bahnhofsviertel district!
Tip:
Get on your bike! With a guided bike tour, bookable with GetYourGuide, you can experience Frankfurt's highlights – from bank towers to apple wine – in a very special way.
