Scotland – with heart and energy
The fans of the Scottish national soccer team are among the world’s most dedicated fans. Known as the Tartan Army, they embody the spirit of the country and bring along to each game plenty of energy and a celebratory mood
Fighting spirit in a kilt
As soon as “Flower of Scotland” strikes up, there is no more holding back. Goosebumps pass through the rows like a Mexican wave and the sparkle in the eyes of the Scottish fans becomes a gleam. In their chants the Scottish fans celebrate the history and pride of Scotland. The infectious enthusiasm of the Tartan Army also often captures the imagination of fans from other countries who are fascinated by their cheerful way of supporting the team.
A sea of tartan: along the way, they change the stadium into a sea of blue and white, the colors of the Scottish flag. The Tartan Army focuses on traditional symbols such as kilts and bagpipes that also brought it its name. Tartan means the classic material with the famous check.
Tartan Army on the move
Lively and high-spirited. Passionate, creative and absolutely heartfelt – the Tartan Army is known for its friendly and approachable manner. Whether at home in Hampden Park or travelling such as to the European Championship, the Scottish fans travel in great numbers around the world and provide a phenomenal atmosphere everywhere Scotland plays. During the game in the stands, however also before kick-off and after the final whistle, the celebratory culture of the Tartan Army is legendary. They are often involved in charitable purposes, collect money and in this way promote the positive image of Scottish soccer.
Off to the Highlands, Lowlands, and Uplands
Soccer is for some perhaps what makes life worth living; however, it is by no means everything there is to report about Scotland. From medieval castles to lochs, as the lakes in Scotland are called. From the sound of bagpipes to the echo of sheep in the Highlands. From fine whisky on the tongue to the warm sense of well-being of Scottish wool.
There is so much in the so-called “Green lung” of Great Britain to discover. How about a trip deep into the past, into the over 5,000-year-old village Skara Brae or to the famous Eilean Donan Castle, a fortress that lies on an island in the middle of a picturesque loch? The majestic Edinburgh Castle provides special moments. It towers high above the city with a breathtaking view onto the historic capital. Many good reasons (and by no means all of them!) for Scotland. Yes!
Optimistic mood – a strong team
This can be felt by all – this highly charged anticipation of the 2024 European Championship. The German national team presents itself as a cohesive unit, ready to give its all. Be carried away by exciting interviews and look forward to a big Yes to Europe!
Mountains, castles and loch monsters – yes!
Whether the legendary Loch Ness, dreamy landscapes on the Isle of Skye or the cultural treasures of the Old Town and New Town in the Scottish capital – in the exciting North of the British Isles there are thousands of stories that want to be experienced by you. Yes!
