Lufthansa will take you directly from Munich to Vancouver this winter – with the new Allegris cabin! What is there to experience in the Canadian metropolis this year? Find out here
If you can't quite decide between a vacation in nature and a city trip, you should simply combine the two and fly to Vancouver. The economic center of the province of British Columbia and the third-largest city in Canada combines all the advantages of a modern metropolis – a vibrant art and culture scene as well as trendy cafés, restaurants and bars – with a slower pace. You can stroll through extensive parks such as Stanley Park or explore Canada's spectacular beauty in one of the many local recreation areas.

We have compiled a list of specific events and tips for a Vancouver vacation this winter:
George Clutesi Retrospective
The west coast of Vancouver Island was once inhabited by the Nuu-chah-nulth. The work of a descendant of these indigenous people is being honored with a retrospective at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art until 19 January 2025. George Clutesi was an artist, activist, author and actor, who played a central role in the preservation of his culture. The title of the exhibition "George Clutesi: ḥašaḥʔap / ʔaapḥii / ʕc̓ik / ḥaaʔaksuqƛ / ʔiiḥmisʔap," written in the Tseshaht language, explains Clutesi's work and character traits: preserving, generous, talented, strong-willed and treasure.
Grouse Mountain
Need a little exercise? Just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, you can go skiing, snowboarding or sledding on Grouse Mountain, Vancouver's 1,231-metre-high local peak.
Invictus Games
A sporting event created by Prince Harry for soldiers who have suffered injuries in the line of duty, the Invictus Games will take place in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025. Some 500 soldiers from 20 nations will meet there from February 8 to 16 to compete in indoor sports adapted for people with disabilities, such as sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball. For the first time, participants will also compete in winter sports such as alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and skeleton and wheelchair curling.
