Check-in and gate areas

You can issue your boarding pass from 30 hours before departure conveniently and quickly in the Lufthansa app or online. Save your boarding pass in the Lufthansa app to be kept informed about changes concerning your flight. At the airport you can issue your boarding pass at a check-in machine. Your departure gate can be found on your boarding pass, in the Lufthansa app and on display boards at the airport.

Bag drop-off

The Lufthansa bag drop-off areas are located in Terminal 1 in Departures Halls A and B. Travellers arriving by Lufthansa Express Rail and Lufthansa Express Bus can drop off their baggage in the AIRail Terminal.

At Frankfurt Airport you can drop off your baggage yourself at a self-service bag drop kiosk. To do this, scan your boarding pass at a bag tag machine and attach this to the long side of your baggage item.

Exclusive premium self-service bag drop kiosks for First Class and Business Class passengers as well as status customers are provided in Departures Hall A at the counters 261 to 263. As usual, the bag tag also gets the Priority or HON imprint here so that your baggage is given priority unloading at your destination airport.

Time slot for security check

Make your trip as pleasant as possible and book a time slot for your security check in advance. You can find out whether your airport offers this service here.

Getting there

Frankfurt Airport is located only 12 kilometres south-west of Frankfurt am Main and, thanks to its convenient location, is very easy to get to – by car, taxi and public local and long-distance transport.
