Fixed-price upgrades when you check in online are available under the following conditions:
- The check-in for the relevant flight is open
- The booked flight is a codeshare or scheduled flight operated by Lufthansa or Swiss
- Availability in the desired travel class is guaranteed
- The purchased upgrade is non-refundable and will be forfeited if you cancel the check in
A fixed-price upgrade when you check in online is not possible in the following instances:
- For journeys for which chargeable additional services have already been booked, but not paid for and the relevant service documents have not been issued.
- For journeys for which additional services have already been booked which prohibit an upgrade, such as taking extra baggage into the aircraft cabin.
- For journeys for which all the flight segments have not yet been confirmed (waiting list bookings)
- For journeys made through a group booking (more than nine passengers)
If you purchase a fixed-price upgrade when you check in online you will enjoy the additional comforts of the new travel class.

If you buy a fixed-price upgrade when you check in online the original terms and conditions of your purchased ticket remain unchanged. They are:
- Rebooking and cancellation conditions
- Baggage regulations
- Mileage credit for the class purchased
